DESIGN SPECIALISM

DESIGN SPECIALISM (FLUX 1)

For this assignment of flux we were assigned to identify changes in graphic design and discuss the new trend in design. Therefore, the topic that we choose is “GLOBAL COMMUNICATION”. This is because think by nature many designers are introverted and do not naturally have strong communication skills (of course this is a generalization) . Most of us enjoy working on our own and creating something special, but communicating with clients and colloborating with other designers plays a main role . Communicationskills can affect your performance as well globally.

How we started

At first we tried to research about the flux in the fields in graphic design such as typography, illustration, advertising, photography, printing technology and multimedia. Therefore, we listed what are the changes in different areas.

Social Change

For social change we listed down the changes  such as how social media connects the world and how social media can be used to promote artworks .

Cultural Change

For cultural change we listed down the changes in art movements, cross culture borders and influences

Research

Some of the research that push us towards our final product, researched on the future of a graphic designer, what will design look like in the future. Layouts for the info graphic poster.
Changes in games (graphic, consoles). Changes in photography (the camera, software use to edit)

Final Outcome

We put in all the information in four separate columns, which is social, new medium, trend of the future and cross culture

Cross Culture

How through global communication, how people from different cultural background can work together and maybe share their how their culture influence their work.

New Medium

How these people share their work through this abundance of medium for people around the world to see.

Social

Social where people can discuss and advertise.

Trend of The Future

How the design will look like in the future.

Reflection

Upon completing this task, i've learned about different types of mediums where people can share their works, see a glimpse of how design will look like in the future and how the changes of graphic design has progress throughout.

Upon doing this assignment i feel like it's a good way to step out of your comfort zone and it makes you think out of the box. Because we needed to do an abundance of experimentation, some made the cut some didn't. It really test you and make you decide which work is suited with the word given.
